3 Hit Combo
Here’s a 3-hit-combo sketch I found in the dusty corners of my hard drive from last year. Spent a few hours this bank holiday monday cleaning it up. I don’t have the time and motivation to take this into spline and polish, but it’s still got some interesting bits in this that it deserves to see the light of day. It’s not ‘finished’, but I want to put time into other work.
Plus my Maya indie license is expiring at the end of May and I really don’t want to renew it haha. I’m also about to move which means it’s a good chance for a fresh start and to make time for personal projects I really want to do!
It was my first time animating an interaction, animating two characters. I get why people use a cylinder now. It started off as a study of the timings of Tekken animation (that first punch from Graham is inspired by Miguel’s b+1 from T7, and the throw is inspired by King’s moveset but also Stone Cold Steve Austin, obviously) but it became lengthier and less ‘game-like’ as I added more to it.
Thanks to Ed Swain for giving feedback on this last year when I was actively working on this.
